Top 2YO Bets Scratched from PCSO Stakes

Go Air Force and Alisha’s Gold, considered to have tremendous potential to score big in today’s PCSO Maiden Race at Santa Ana Park, have been withdrawn from the competition. This leaves the race’s outcome wide open for the other runners.

Go Air Force is down with sore shin (sobrecana), while Alisha’s Gold is running a temperature. Handlers for the two juveniles decided to play safe and scratch the promising youngsters from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office-sponsored race.

Formerly dubbed the “PCSO Sweepstakes”, the race today will feature only four runners. Trial first-placer Windbeneathmywings is expected to run as the favorite.

However, railbirds reveal that trial third-placer Love You By Heart had just recovered from a mild fever before the trial. Back to her old form now, she ran a good pre-race workout and is said to be “the one to beat,” according to a Class A jockey.

High Energy and Rosa’s Success, who have not yet turned in any impressive performances, will be pressed to rise up to the challenge. In any case, three runners are already assured of prize money as PCSO has provided purses up to third place.
