PCSO October Race

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office will be staging a race exclusive to PCSO runners on October 13 at Santa Ana Park in Naic, Cavite.

The PCSO Anniversary Race will be run over a mile and features nine entries competing for hefty prize money.

Those declared to run are Hideaway Farm’s filly Leonor, to be ridden by JV Ponce carrying 53 kilos, lawyer Narciso Morales’s colt Tarzan (VR Dilema, 54.5), Honorato Neri’s colt Sky Dragon (AB Alcasid Jr., 54.5), Mayor Benhur Abalos Jr.’s colt Stand In Awe (JB Guce, 54.5), Tony Tan’s colt Pugad Lawin (PR Dilema, 55), Eduardo Gonzalez’s filly Appointment (JB Hernandez, 53), lawyer Sixto Esquivias IV’s colt Boss Jaden (JB Bacaycay, 54.5), Herminio Esguerra’s filly Wild Ginseng (FM Raquel, 53), and Zenaida de Guzman’s colt Divine Eagle (MA Alvarez, 54.5).

The PCSO Committee on Races chaired by lawyer Jose T. Malang is also preparing for the agency’s flagship race, the 41st Presidential Gold Cup, to be held in December.

Other major racing festivals are also in the offing. The Klub Don Juan de Manila Derby will be held, as always, this month, but for the first time, the venue will be changed to Metro Turf racetrack in Malvar, Batangas.

The Metropolitan Association of Race Track Owners (MARHO) will be holding its iconic championship races on one day, November 24, at Santa Ana Park.   ***
