Forensics, 2007 winner of the Golden Slipper, was sired by 1995 Slipper winner Flying Spur and is out of Dehere daughter Prove It.
Forensics was bred at Vinery Stud and purchased by the Inghams of Woodland Stud at the William Inglis & Son Ltd Easter yearling sale for Aus$900,000.
Having supplied the winner of the 2007 Golden Slipper, Flying Spur could move up into the lead in the race for the current champion sire title in Australia. Following the recent win of his son Magnus (out of Snippets) in the G1 Galaxy at Warwick Farm, Flying Spur is battling for second place with Encosta de Lago and they are both not far behind the leader Redoute’s Choice.
Flying Spur (Danehill-Rolls, by Mr. Prospector) is the seventh winner of the Golden Slipper to go on and sire a winner of it. The other sires have been Danzero, Marscay, Marauding (two), Vain (two), Baguette and Todman (two).
With the upcoming Inglis and Magic Millions sales in Australia, this little bit of information could prove useful for horse buyers looking for thoroughbreds with good lineages and proven performance statistics.***
