KL: Don Juan Derby, Tagumpay!

KARERA LANG!  By Jenny Ortuoste for Tumbok,  21 October 2008, Tuesday

Don Juan Derby, Tagumpay!

KDJM president Jun Almeda congratulates jockey Patricio “Patty” Dilema as past KDJM president Sonny Arevalo smiles. Looking on is Philracom chairman Atty. Joy Rojas (in suit). With them are four lovely muses and (L-R) Manila Jockey Club racing manager Ding Magboo, Rommel Manalang (representing Nuclear Power owner and breeder Hermie Esguerra), trainer Nestor Manalang, MJC director Martin Cepeda, KDJM member Alvin Ferreras, and KDJM treasurer VG Martinez.

Philracom executive director and retired Philippine Navy admiral Jorge G. Necesito hands jockey Jonathan Hernandez his trophy for winning the Sampaguita Stakes on Indelible Ink. With them are lovely ladies and (L-R) MJC EVP-COO Atty. King Reyno, Philracom chairman Atty. Joy Rojas, owner’s representative Rommel Manalang (back to camera), and trainer Nestor Manalang.

Joy Rojas at Exec. Ani Chairman Rojas, “We congratulate the Klub Don Juan de Manila on their successful staging of this yearly event that contributes to the promotion and upliftment of the sport.”

Kudos! to the management of Manila Jockey Club and most especially to the organizers of Klub Don Juan Derby.

We enjoyed the races in addition to the festive atmosphere (kahit wala po ang mga nagtutugtugan banda). Napakahirap ng line-up.

Klub Don Juan was well balanced. It’s worth watching including the trophy races where Graceful and Luck To Win won. Suspense, thrilling and full of surprises. No matter how difficult it was to select the winners, racing fans are always excited. Sulit.

Racing fans witnessed exciting races. Makapigil hininga. Like Tail Wind, Forever Young, Holy Ridge, Ziraz, Real Spicy, Fleet Street and Heroine. For all the while, racing fans were expecting Real Spicy to have an easy sailing. If not for Midnight King swerving to the right. It will be a down the wire finish with Drama Belle. Not to mention was, the expected battle (for the first time) between ES Twenty Six and Indelible Ink where some of the racing fans got disappointed about the poor performance of ES Twenty Six. And that’s how it goes, Indelible Ink easily demolish ES Twenty Six. Blockbuster lineup which every racing fan will be waiting for.

Sana po may makaisip na may ganitong pakarera every month. It will increase the confidence of the racing enthusiast and at the same time will increase the sales of both racing clubs. All of us will benefit from it including our government.

    Maraming salamat po!
