Manila Jockey Club has just issued an official statement clarifying the issues with its totalizator service provider and the resumption of races at SLLP:
Manila Jockey Club is pleased to announce that it has entered into a new agreement with United Tote, a US company that manufactures and sells totalizators worldwide including Churchill Downs. In addition to its presently owned 210 Versa terminals and system, MJC acquired 110 additional Versa terminals with an option to acquire 100 of the latest terminals.
It is also setting up its own telecommunications hub, and organize its in-house technical service team and procure its own thermal paper and spare parts to generate huge savings for the company.
To do all these, it needs a few days to accomplish them. It has therefore agreed with Philracom to hold this week’s remaining races at Santa Ana Park. We expect to resume races at San Lazaro Leisure Park soon with better facilities and a more efficient system. Thank you for your understanding and continuing support.
